FAQs

Yes, we do. However, in peak demand periods, our long-term customers are prioritised.

For most projects, we need architectural and structural engineering drawings. If engineering is unavailable, we can make assumptions based on architectural drawings to provide a preliminary quotation, which will need to be revised later. For small projects such as garages or carports, individual truss details (span, pitch, roof loading, etc.) will be enough.

Our detailers complete requested site measures in-between ensuring our plant has continuous work. Unforeseen hold-ups can occur, meaning we cannot always spare a detailer from the office. If we cannot get to your site, our detailers will guide you on what measurements are needed. If we do get out to your site, this is charged at an hourly rate.

We deliver to most places in Victoria and have supplied interstate jobs. Where we deliver depends on cartage availability and commitments to our local market. Customers in remote areas can coordinate their own cartage, and we’re happy to work with them to do this.

Lifting to the plate is an additional service not included in our quotes. It is completed at the discretion of Bar-Truss delivery drivers and/or its sub-contractors. If you want this service, you need to complete and return our Authorisation to Lift to Plate form prior to delivery. Please note that the driver may refuse to lift to plate if deemed unsafe.

Where crane unloading is not achievable at site, the labour required to hand unload structures is in the care of our customers.

Yes, if your site requires traffic control for delivery, you must organise it. If we’re unable to deliver to your site, there will be an additional charge for returning or delivering to an alternative site.

Yes, we can if it’s safe. However, we encourage customers to be on-site to check the order is complete and undamaged. Please read our trading terms for timeframes to notify us of any delivery and quality claims.

We will coordinate a delivery date closely with you from the placement of the order. We will provide a window of dates when the job is booked. As your job gets closer to this window, we will finalise dates and contact you two days before to reconfirm delivery dates and send a reminder text the day before.

Where space is available, we can store structures. A storage fee may apply. If your job requires rework due to storage duration, the labour and materials will be charged.
